Audio Ripping Utilities

Postby TheAlmightyGuru on Thu Aug 30, 2007 2:42 pm

This is a list of audio ripping utilities and the games that they can rip audio from. Each game has will mention whether or not the program can rip M = Music, S = Sound, or B = Both. If you know of any other ripping utilities let me know and I'll add them to the list. Be sure to include if the ripper works on music, sound, or both.

Extendable WAD Editor - DOOM (B), DOOM II: Hell On Earth (B), Duke Nukem 3D (B), Final Doom (B), Heretic (B), Hexen: Beyond Heretic (B), Rise of the Triad (B), Strife (B)

Exult Tools - Ultima VII: The Black Gate (B), Ultima VII, Part 2: Serpent Isle (B)

FloEdit - Wolfenstein 3D (B), Spear of Destiny (B)

Game Audio Player - A huge list, although mostly sound effects only

Ladik's MPQ Editor - Diablo (B), Diablo: Hellfire (B), Diablo II (B), Lords of Magic (B), WarCraft III: Throne of Chaos (B), StarCraft (B), World of WarCraft (B)

Wombat's getting better and better. (The games on that page with extraction at 100% mean you can extract all the sound and/or music, even if Wombat can't play the music itself.)

I am amused that the most XWE is being used for is extraction in this thread. Nevermind about that, though- I'm totally grabbing that MPQ editor for some W3 music extraction!

Should get some research into extracting the Supreme Commander music as well, because I'd rather not chop up MP3's just to get the music the way I expect it.
