I'm afraid I don't have time to find links for all of those games and songs. You'll have to Google them yourself.

As for your request of games that have metal music, the only ones I can think of are Quake and Rise of the Robots. Quake's music was done by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, and some of the Rise of the Robots tracks were done by Brian May from Queen. Neither is really "metal", but that's the best I can do.

Also, the DOOM music was inspired by metal artists. Check the DOOM Wiki music page and the links at the bottom of it. Those links will take you to the pages that explain which metal songs were used as inspiration.

Little Ninja Brothers also has "Can-Can (Orpheus in the Underworld)" as well as part from Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade.

Kid Dracula has Golliwogg's Cakewalk by Claude Debussy.

Crash n the Boys Street Challenge has a bunch of different classical songs, but I can't remember what they all are now.

Star Fox has Voices of Spring by Johann Strauss (in the "Out of This Dimension" area).

The broken record in Maniac Mansion plays the first few notes of one of the movements from Swan Lake.

StarTropics plays "God Save the Queen/My Country Tis of Thee" when you sink Captain Bell's ship.

Final Fantasy V has something from Mozart, too. I think it's Turkish March.

The NES version of Might & Magic has Pachelbel's Canon on the title screen. The whole thing.

Thanks for the additions FO. I will add all of this to the Videogame Music Preservation Foundation as more games are appended.

I have a few classical composers on it already, but I'd like to get them all. I'm pleased to see that other people still like classical music as well!

It's not exactly classical, but the boss music for the Slot Machine in Star Fox is "When the Saints Go Marching In".

Likewise, the title theme of Punch-Out!! is the "Gilette Look Sharp March". Also, a lot of the boxer introductions in this game are taken from other songs, such as "Sakura" for Piston Honda, and I keep forgetting what it is, but the song that Don Flamenco dances to is the same as the "High Score" music in the Nintendo version of NES Tetris.

Super Ninja Boy has "Columbia, Gem of the Ocean" for the second overworld theme.

Violinist of Hameln has a ton of classical songs. I don't know what they all are, but just download the SPCs and go through them and you'll no doubt recognize some of them.

I've heard the PS2 version of Killer7 has Greensleeves, but the Gamecube version didn't, even though it's mentioned in the credits.

Conker's Bad Fur Day has Henry Purcell's "Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary" because the scenes that use it directly parody the same scenes in A Clockwork Orange that used it.

Return Fire has Ride of the Valkyries. (I only read about that in a review, but it sounded to me like they got the idea for it from Apocalypse Now.)

Battlefield Vietnam - Apparently, same thing as Return Fire.

Final Fantasy VI - Part of the Phantom Train music is taken from Chopin's Funeral March.

Some of the songs in Donkey Kong Country 2 have notes that seem to have been taken from Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer", especially the bonus room theme. It's just a few notes of the song, but they're very distinct if you know what to listen for.

Banjo-Kazooie's main theme is an obvious take on "Teddy Bear's Picnic". (Not classical, but eh.)

Battle of Olympus - The music when talking to the Gods in the temples is Bach's Toccata & Fugue.

Crystal Castles - Part of the Nutcracker Suite (the March) plays when you clear a level.

Dr. Franken - I pulled this from my Cameos Database, but I haven't actually played the game myself so you might want to verify it: Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is the main theme, and plays through almost the entire game. The opening/ending theme may also be classical, but I don't know its title. (Credit: Ragnorak-X)

Same with this one:

Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water - Two of the songs in this game are real music: one song borrows from "Hungarian Dance No. 5" by Johannes Brahms, and another borrows from "Sicilienne (from Pelleas et Melisande)" by Gabriel Faure. (Credit: Terry Trojan)

This one, I'm not real sure about, but in Paladin's Quest, the background music that's used for the temples and the crystal labyrinth is quite similar to the third movement of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, "Veris leta facies". I'm not sure if the similarity was intentional, because the songs aren't exactly the same, but the similarity is so remarkable, I thought it was worth mentioning anyway.

Thanks again FO. I'm working on an updated list and I'll see if I can research some of the ones you mentioned as well to verify them.

Any idea who wrote the NES Gauntlet music? I've tried several places to see if anyone knew who did it. I highly doubt it's original to the game because it sounds very much like classical organ music, especially Bach.

If you like Yoshi's Cookie, you may also like Tetris Attack. It's a nice fast-paced game with similar objectives. I play it all the time with my lady friend.

I found it, it's called "Toréador Song" from "Carmen" by Georges Bizet.

If anyone has a audio file of "The Gillette Look Sharp March" could you mail it to me or post a link. I'm trying to find a real instrumental equivalent to each of the game songs.

There's a media player file you can listen to here:

http://www.keystoneconcertband.com/CDno ... harp_March

You have to wait until about halfway through the clip. Part of that song is also heard at one point in Raging Bull.

LOL! I only just now noticed that article links to my site. Also, Von Kaiser's theme in Punch-Out!! is "Ride of the Valkyries". Glass Joe's sounds familiar to me, too, but I don't know what it is.

Glass Joe's song sounds like a modified version of Star Spangled Banner, actually.

Anyone got an idea from this ditty from Pipe Dream? http://rapidshare.com/files/54750189/Pi ... f.zip.html
