(waves a bit sheepishly)

I've been following TheAlmightyGuru site for a few years, and am active in the ZDoom Forums and Doom Armory as a Weapons DECORATE programmer. Also an avid Saria fan. Not too much else to say.

This place is a desert! It's like nothing ever really happens in Caro. Then again, I don't get out nearly as much as I should. Maybe I should swing by the Geek Shop and see what they have, besides their DDR stuff, since I'm not very good at it. Maybe if they had like a boxing version!

Yeah, there isn't much up there. At least you have Bay City and Saginaw not too far away, those are both nice places. Just don't get too close to Flint, you don't want to die of lead poisoning! ;-)

I'll have to warn my buddy in Flushing about that- Oh wait, that's what he warned ME of when we went to Rally's. Good thing he lives in the countryside.

My name's Aaron. I live in Woodstock, Georgia. I found TheAlmightyGuru a few years ago, and it has helped to immerse me into the nerd culture that I appreciate so.

Pleased to meet you Aaron. I'm more than happy to help you become all the nerd that you can be. How long have you been LARPing/Roleplaying?

I've played DnD for about four years, and I've been LARPing for almost three. I regularly play in Elfstone, a LARP set in the Fourth Age of Tolkien's Middle Earth. I occasionally play in a more high fantasy LARP called Rendezvous, and I also play in a LARP called Dark Confrontations at Dragon*Con every year.

That's really cool. Aside from in the bedroom I haven't done any role-playing in years. Having all your old high school friends move to various states tends to do that to you. I supposed I could find a local group and get back into it, but now that I have a steady job it's hard to justify the time. Damn, I sound like an old man now!

Is Dragon*Con any good? The largest convention I've been to is the Detroit Comic Con, but it's been pretty lame.

I have a foul mouth, a dirty mind, an obnoxious Midwestern accent, small tits, and dual penchants for prolixity and buggery.

Oh yeah, and fuck Michael Flatley, I am the true Lord of the Dance.

Dean's a faggot.

I've been playing DnD on and off in the time that I have played; finding a group that is nearby and will actually stick together and not die off after a few sessions is what's hard for me.

Dragon*Con is very hard to describe. It's one of, if not the largest multi-media convention in the world; about 25,000 nerds spread throughout three hotels. It has panels on just about anything nerdy that you can think of, it has dealer and gaming rooms, an art exhibit, a parade, concerts, parties, and costumes galor; and everyone there is incredibly friendly. The best way to truely understand Dragon*Con is to actually go and experience it. The website is <http://dragoncon.org/>.

Finding a group to game with on a regular basis for over a year was always a major issue for me as well. Very few people have what it takes.

That sounds really exciting and horrifyingly frightening at the same time. But at least with nerds you don't have those annoying frat-boys running around trying to get people to punch them in the stomach as hard as they can.

If I'm a faggot, does that make you my fag hag? Heh heh!

Glad to see you made it to the forums. They just wouldn't be the same without your particular... elegance.
