Holy shit Dean going to an ANIME CON?

I almost forgot all about the con myself, but I think it's decided- I'm going because I not only have to see this for myself, but I know other people from ACen will be there too.

I'm thinking of going as the main character in Action Doom 2, complete with boffer Whiskey bottle that will actually break. I don't have an action pistol or time to make one, but that's okay- pretty sure nobody will know the difference. I'd go as the spy again but I really need to clean up that tux of mine, plus it's really hot under that mask. A pity, considering I just found my boffer flip knife again. That and the watch of blue glowing broke.

I know, right? I was planning on being cast in a Flint production of the Rocky Horror Show, but plans fell through and it was canceled. I still wanted to dress up for Halloween, and this gives me an excuse--seeing how I'm just a little too old for trick-or-treating these days.

I'd never even heard of Action Doom, but it looks awesome! I'll see you there, I'll be the one in black and red vinyl.

I wonder if I linked to it in the "What games are you playing" thread, but http://action.mancubus.net and free download nets you the game, complete with IWAD and modified ZDoom all ready for your enjoyment. Four different endings, and lots of Final Fight/Streets of Rage references!

Flynn Taggart done horribly wrong. The sleeves aren't long enough (Scuba Steve said it was supposed to be denim jacket), my 'shadow' isn't a uniform thickness, and I don't look nearly old enough.

Don't be too hard on yourself, I couldn't exactly pull off the body shape of an anime character! ;-)

I loved the boffer butterfly knife though, that was very inventive.

It's funny... I think I spent about 5 minutes thinking about how to pull it off before making a proof of concept. The actual design took another 30 minutes.

By the way, Golgo 13 was a nice assassin anime, mostly Golgo solving puzzles and using the most insane methods to snipe people/cars. Headshots at over a mile (2Km) away? How about a PPS plastic revolver snipe job? He's not someone I'd want to piss off.

Sounds pretty cool. Have you ever played the Golgo 13 videogames? I know there was an 8-bit NES game, maybe two. But there may have been a couple others.

*Checks Moby Games*

Well, it looks like there were just two games for the NES.

I beat Mafat Conspiracy fair and square, but Top Secret Episode I don't think I ever got to the end of. I did get the chance to play them both on actual hardware though! It was pretty much what got me wanting to see the anime series.

Making a game that reflected what he did in the anime series would likely mean making a game with similar aspects to Hitman, only the target is ALWAYS sniped. I'd almost say Tactical Assassin 3 is more accurate, but that doesn't capture how much pre-planning went into the sniper set-up and kill like Hitman does.

That sounds pretty cool. I really need to start playing modern games, but the newest system I have is a PS1. I don't really play enough to justify buying a 7th Gen system.

Well, the lovely thing about Tactical Assassin is that it's Flash, featured on Newgrounds. Well, the first and second episodes anyway.
